Indian Wedding

Being a typical film industry fan and an avid someone, move and attending weddings are two of my favorite hobbies. I even have been fascinated by wedding scenes, whether or not it's Alia and Arjun in ‘2 States’ or the joint family celebrating the welcome of a new member in ‘Hum Saath Saath Hai’.

Weddings are special. In Asian country we'll notice a gorgeous mix of made cultures and customs that outline a marriage. whether or not you're within the east or south, there's continually one thing distinctive regarding the Indian wedding customs. the subsequent are those I have witnessed.

1. Welcoming The ‘Baarat’ with Tomatoes

The groom together with his relatives and friends take the ‘baarat’ to bride’s place on the marriage day. usually folks use flowers to welcome the groom. But, in Sarsaul, alittle city in Uttar Pradesh, the groom is greeted with tomatoes. They believe that beginning one thing on associate degree unpleasant note perpetually seems to be joyous.

I was extraordinarily overawed whereas witnessing this scene.

2. Gifts for river ‘Ganga’

A beautiful plate embellished with goodies and sweets was placed with different wedding preparations. once I asked regarding this plate, my friend – the bride – told Maine regarding the custom of giving these goodies to watercourse Ganga. it's believed that watercourse Ganga, can shower her blessings on the bride for a fruitful life ahead.

Amazing! Isn’t it?

3. Sanyaasam by Groom

Moving to the south, another Indian wedding ritual followed by Tamil Brahmins is wherever the groom pretends to own a mind amendment showing that he doesn't wish to urge married, rather he needs to elect ‘Sanyaasam’. Then the daddy of the bride encourages and convinces him to decide on ‘Grahastham’ and marry his female offspring. This strange tradition is thought as ‘Kasi Yaatrai’.

Witnessing this fun-filled ritual, my mind had one thought – my country is amazing!

4. Wedding Flags

Ever detected of a marriage with flags? Kumauni wedding has this distinctive ritual of victimization flags in wedding. A flag of truce is understood as ‘Nishan’ leads that baraat and represents the bridegroom. The last man within the procession holds a red flag that represents the bride

.

5. Ghara Ghoroli

It is a hypnotic read to look at a gaggle of girls saltation with Associate in Nursing empty material pot on head to fill in H2O for the bride or groom. The Ghara gharoli ritual is extraordinarily sacred among all the Punjabi’s. The bride’s or the groom’s sisters or sister-in-laws square measure purported to the material pot with water from a close-by temple. The bride or groom takes tub within the same water followed by different ceremonies.
